I saw this picture last month and remembered when I wanted to buy this so badly for my son. He was a little young to have a computer of this magnitude, but I wanted it anyway knowing that it would entice him to enter the world of computers, the internet, and the wonderful potential available through technology.
Turns out the computer wasn’t necessary. Now I can’t seem to get him off the computer at all.

School-aged children around the world at the turn of the millennium were really starting to get computerized. Parents were starting to spend so much time on their own computers that sharing with their friends was simply impractical. If they could afford it, they would often get their children their own computers. If they could really afford it, they would get their children high-end computers.
